Pakistani youth wins bronze medal at Asian Junior Boxing Championship

Ayesha Mumtaz, a schoolgirl from Sargodha, has won a bronze medal at the ongoing Asian Junior Boxing Championship in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. The championship, organized by the Asian Boxing Confederation, runs from August 27 to September 10 and features young athletes from across the region.

On Wednesday, Radio Pakistan reported that Mumtaz secured her medal by defeating Thi Hong Yen Nguyen of Vietnam in the quarterfinals.

Competing in the 46kg weight category, she was the sole representative from Pakistan and showcased exceptional skills, with her well-executed jabs proving pivotal in her victory over her Vietnamese opponent.

Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, President of the Pakistan Boxing Federation, congratulated Mumtaz on her achievement, highlighting her success as a testament to the potential of Pakistani athletes.
