In another impressive achievement, young Mehwish Ali from Pakistan claimed the Nordic Junior Open Squash Championship title in Sweden with an outstanding performance.

Entering the tournament unseeded, Mehwish defeated the second seed, Ciara Boulanger of France, in the final, winning in straight sets 11-5, 11-7, 12-10.

Mehwish’s path to the title featured dominant performances in the group stage. In Group D, she began by defeating Norway’s Vilde Odeh 3-0, followed by another 3-0 victory over Denmark’s Camilla Thomsen.

In the quarterfinals, she faced her sister Mahnoor in a hard-fought match, advancing to the semifinals, where she overcame Belgium’s Alice Allard.

Just last month, Mehwish took bronze at the Danish Junior Open. Her sisters, Sehrish and Mahnoor, also performed well in the Nordic Open, securing fourth and fifth places, respectively.

Earlier in April, Mahnoor and Mehwish made headlines by winning gold medals at the Australian Junior Open 2024, held at the prestigious Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre in Albert Park, Victoria.
