A Coke Studio song that has won hearts, “Piya Piya Calling” is the first Pakistani song to be nominated for Song of the Year at Norway’s prestigious P3 Gold Awards.

The producer and curator of the show, popularly known as Xulfi-Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan-uploaded news on his Instagram story wherein he explained “P3 is Norway’s biggest radio channel.”

It features Norwegian musical duo Karpe, singer Delara, and Pakistani artist Kaifi Khalil, among others, and has gathered more than 14 million views on YouTube. Hip-hop dance group Quick Style, founded by Norwegian-Pakistani twins and their Norwegian-Thai friend, makes an appearance.

This multilingual fusing track, which, according to many, blends colorful cultures and rhythms with a single stroke, quickly became overnight sensations in Pakistan and Norway and spread from there.

Commenting on the success, Xulfi said that we never knew this timeline would enter our lives.

“I still feel that when you try boundaries for and through love and art, the universe sends back some of the love and art it carries, too,” he added.

He also posted a link on social media asking fans to vote for his song.
