US journalist Caitlin Doornbos has expressed admiration for Pakistan’s hospitality and cuisine during her recent visit to Islamabad for the “Islamabad Talks.”
During her stay, Doornbos shared multiple posts on X, highlighting her experience in the capital city. Reflecting her appreciation of local culture, she wore shalwar kameez during her stay at Serena Hotel.

She praised the warm welcome she received and posted a picture of a meal from a restaurant in Islamabad’s F-7 Sector, appreciating the local food.
Her posts quickly drew responses from social media users, with many welcoming her to experience Pakistan’s culture and encouraging her to highlight the country’s peaceful environment.

Doornbos later shared another post featuring traditional dessert halwa, calling it her “new guilty pleasure.”
She also said breakfast in Pakistan had become her favorite meal, praising the hospitality of locals as among the warmest she has experienced worldwide.
In another update, she shared a scenic view of Islamabad, writing about the city’s energy amid hopes of Pakistan playing a constructive diplomatic role in regional peace efforts.
