Ahmad Nawaz, a survivor of the Army Public School (APS) attack, has been awarded the British Empire Medal by King Charles III in recognition of his outstanding contributions to youth empowerment worldwide.
Sharing the news on X (formerly Twitter), Nawaz expressed his gratitude for the honor.
“I have received the British Empire Medal from HM King Charles III,” he wrote, posting pictures of himself with the award. “Very grateful to have received this honor for my advocacy and commitment to youth empowerment.”
He further stated, “I look forward to joining His Majesty, the King, at Buckingham Palace this summer and highlighting youth struggles globally. Very thankful to all my friends and supporters, without whom such milestones wouldn’t have been possible.”
Nawaz was attending a lecture at APS when the school was attacked a decade ago. He sustained a gunshot wound to his arm but survived the tragic incident.
