Ashab Irfan wins PSA squash title in Canada

Emerging Pakistani squash star, Ashab Irfan has won his first Professional Squash Association (PSA) title by winning at the Richardson Wealth Men’s Open 2025 in Canada.

The tournament was held from October 15 to 19, according to the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) announced on Monday.

Ashab, forth seeded, put up an impressive show, dominating the England’s Sam Todd with a straight-sets victory of 3-0, finishing 11-9, 11-1, 11-5 in just 43 minutes. This win earned him the top prize from the $31,250 total purse.

Ashab Irfan showcased exceptional skill and strategy throughout the match, blending speed, accuracy, and tactical expertise to claim his maiden PSA Copper-level championship.

Also competing in the tournament was Pakistan’s Noor Zaman, who advanced to the quarterfinals after a strong series of performances.

The PSF has extended its congratulations to Ashab Irfan for his remarkable achievement and promising future in professional squash.
