British-Pakistani journalist Saima Mohsin has been honored with the prestigious Kathy Gannon Legacy Award by the Coalition for Women in Journalism (CFWIJ) at a ceremony in London.
The award recognizes veteran correspondents who have covered pivotal stories with integrity, celebrating female journalists who uphold Kathy Gannon’s legacy.
According to the CFWIJ, Mohsin exemplifies the award’s values by showcasing tenacity and unwavering commitment in journalism.
Mohsin gained widespread attention after sustaining an injury while on assignment in Jerusalem, which led to her dismissal from her job. Since then, she has become a vocal advocate for justice, workplace protections, and improved safeguards for journalists in an often unforgiving industry.
Currently associated with Sky News, Mohsin is one of two recipients of this year’s award, alongside journalist Leila Molana Allen.
