Renowned heart surgeon Hasnat Khan, who gained international recognition due to his friendship with the late Princess Diana, is set to be appointed as the head of the Jinnah Cardiac Institute in Lahore.
According to sources, Dr Hasnat Khan has already visited the Jinnah Cardiac Institute and has requested two months before formally taking up the position.
Officials from the Health Department said they are in contact with him regarding the appointment process.
It is worth noting that Dr Hasnat Khan has extensive experience working in hospitals in the United Kingdom and Australia.
He gained global prominence due to his close association with Princess Diana.
Princess Diana reportedly met Dr Hasnat Khan’s mother during her visit to Lahore in 1996. His maternal uncle, Dr Jawad Sajad, is also a well-known heart surgeon.
