For the first time, a female officer has been appointed as the District Police Officer (DPO) in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sonia Shamroz has been appointed as DPO Nowshera by the AIG Establishment, after which she formally assumed charge of her post.
Sonia Shamroz is a highly skilled and well-educated police officer who has obtained an international fellowship in criminology from the United Kingdom.
She has also been awarded the title of Best Female Officer in Asia, reflecting recognition of her professional capabilities.
Her appointment is being described as a significant milestone within the police department. It is expected to not only enhance women’s representation in law enforcement but also bring improvements in administrative performance.
