The Federal Ministry of Education has launched a solar energy project for schools in Islamabad, through which all institutions will be powered by solar energy.
According to a spokesperson from the Ministry of Education, the initiative will initially cover 100 primary schools in Islamabad, with the project expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The spokesperson stated that the primary objectives of the project are to reduce electricity costs and promote sustainability. This move is part of a broader effort to utilize renewable energy sources and decrease the city’s carbon footprint.
Additionally, the spokesperson highlighted that the project will provide a clean and sustainable energy source for schools. It involves installing solar panels on the roofs of selected schools, tailored to meet each school’s specific energy requirements.
The ministry anticipates significant savings in electricity costs annually as a result of this initiative, which will be reinvested to enhance educational facilities, the spokesperson added.
