In a landmark achievement, Pakistan’s information technology sector hit $4 billion exports during the first eleven months of fiscal year 2025-26, highlighting the industry’s expanding role in the country’s export landscape
Data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed that exports of IT and IT-enabled services generated $4.184 billion between July 2025 and May 2026.
The figure represents a significant increase from $3.475 billion recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The sector posted year-on-year growth of 20%, adding $709 million in export revenues. The achievement reflects the resilience of Pakistan’s technology industry, which continued to grow despite challenges such as internet connectivity issues and regional geopolitical tensions.
While monthly export receipts eased in May, the sector maintained strong momentum overall. IT export earnings stood at $373 million during the month, down from $423 million in April 2026.
With one month remaining in the fiscal year, industry exports are expected to climb further and could approach $4.5 billion by year-end. However, the final figure is likely to remain below the government’s ambitious target of $5 billion for FY26.
