Maryam Nawaz increases prize money for national hockey team to Rs30 million

Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a substantial increase in prize money for national heroes, raising it from Rs0.2 million to Rs30 million.

During a meeting with the national hockey team, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif presented them with a cheque worth 3 crore rupees. She expressed her satisfaction with the team’s recent achievements, noting that they had broken new ground after 13 years and had restored a sense of national pride.

Recognizing the historical significance of hockey for Pakistan, Maryam Nawaz Sharif assured full support from both herself and the Prime Minister to revive the national hockey team. She pledged to allocate necessary resources to ensure its success.

Moreover, she instructed provincial sports authorities to take proactive measures to promote sports across Punjab, emphasizing the importance of establishing sports academies to nurture talent.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her commitment to the development of hockey and assured the Punjab government’s unwavering support towards this goal.
