Cadets from the Pakistan Navy’s sailing team won the silver medal in the 79th International Naval Academy Sailing Competition held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nine teams from around the world participated in the J24 boat category, the world’s leading keelboat class featured in major international competitions like the PanAm Games, World Sailing Games, and Nations Cup, according to the Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) of Pakistan Navy.

In a statement, the DGPR shared that the Pakistan Naval Academy (PNA) team captain dedicated the achievement to the high-quality training they received.

The competition included cadets from the naval academies of Pakistan, Brazil, China, Italy, Portugal, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, and India.

This victory follows the team’s first-place win at the International Sailing Championship in Sri Lanka in August, marking their second impressive international performance in just three months, the DGPR added.

Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, congratulated the Pakistan Navy team on their success and praised the PNA faculty and instructors for their dedication to international excellence.
