Pakistan has been ranked the 17th most generous country in the world, according to the World Giving Report 2025, published by the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in partnership with the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP).

The report assessed generosity in 101 countries using three key indicators: willingness to help strangers, monetary donations, and time spent volunteering. Pakistan performed strongly across all categories, particularly in financial giving, where citizens ranked 17th globally based on the proportion of income donated.

The World Giving Report 2025 highlights Pakistan’s deeply rooted philanthropic traditions, ranging from formal charitable institutions to informal support networks. These efforts play a critical role in sectors such as health care, education, disaster relief, and poverty alleviation.

The report also underscores a broader global trend: economic hardship has not deterred acts of generosity. Pakistan’s performance is seen as a compelling example of social resilience and collective responsibility during challenging times.

Since its establishment in 2001, the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy has worked to advance indigenous philanthropy by promoting transparency, nonprofit certification, and public-private collaboration. Through research and strategic engagement, PCP aims to strengthen the country’s philanthropic infrastructure and broaden the impact of charitable initiatives.
