Pakistan secures two silver medals in wrestling at Asian Beach Games

Pakistan’s wrestling team put up a competitive show at the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, securing two silver medals despite falling short in the final bouts across multiple weight categories.

Key performers Inam Butt and Asadullah reached their respective finals but were defeated by Iranian opponents, while another wrestler, Muhammad Abdullah, missed out on a bronze medal after a close contest against Kyrgyzstan.

In the 90kg category, Inam Butt faced defeat in the final against an Iranian opponent, earning a silver medal. Despite a strong campaign leading up to the final, Butt was unable to overcome his rival in the last bout.

Meanwhile, in the 70kg category, Pakistan’s Muhammad Abdullah missed out on a bronze medal after losing to a wrestler from Kyrgyzstan.

In another notable performance, Asadullah clinched a silver medal in the 80kg category. He advanced to the final but was ultimately defeated by an Iranian wrestler, adding another silver to Pakistan’s tally in the wrestling events.

Overall, Pakistan’s wrestlers managed to secure two silver medals at the event, reflecting a competitive showing despite narrowly missing out on gold.
