Pakistani brothers win gold medals at international Taekwondo championship

In a proud moment for Pakistan, brothers Muhammad Ayaan Khan and Muhammad Saaim Khan have each secured gold medals at the prestigious Pugnator Youth Grand Slam Championship in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Competing against top young martial artists from across the region, the duo delivered standout performances to claim top honors in their respective Taekwondo categories.

The Pugnator Open International Championship 2025, held at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta from October 3 to 5, brought together talented youth athletes from countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and Pakistan.

The event celebrated not just athletic excellence, but also the spirit of international sportsmanship and unity.

In August, Pakistan taekwondo players Syed Ameer Hamza, Muhammad Umar, Hammad Nadeem, and Shamil Ali secured four medals at the 7th International Taekwondo Cup 2025 in Nilai, Malaysia.

Other gold medallists include Syed Hadi Jafri in 45 kg event, while Tayiba Ashraf clinched three gold medals in virtual fight, pair poomsae, and 49 kg fight, and Sumbul Fatima bagged two gold medals and a silver in different events.
