In a groundbreaking achievement, Pakistan’s tech company Data Vault has introduced the nation’s first locally developed generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) platform, named ‘Zahanat AI.’

Zahanat AI, a cutting-edge generative AI model, enables users to engage in conversational interactions, answer questions, and provide support across diverse fields, as stated by Data Vault. This initiative seeks to strengthen Pakistan’s AI ecosystem by developing models tailored to address local and cultural requirements.

Generative AI refers to technologies capable of producing content such as text, images, videos, audio, and more. Large Language Models (LLMs), like ChatGPT, DeepSeek, and Meta-AI, are trained on extensive datasets to comprehend and create text with human-like fluency.

“The solutions it offers will be aligned with our [Pakistani] culture and environment. You could call it a truly local model,” said Syed Muhammad Yahya, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Data Vault, during the official launch event held in Islamabad.

Zahanat AI, specifically, supports multiple languages including English, Urdu, and regional dialects, with plans to expand its linguistic range further. It is designed as a versatile tool, addressing queries related to areas such as healthcare, mathematics, coding, history, and more.

“What makes it stand out is its development and training in Pakistan, ensuring it caters to challenges specific to our region,” Yahya explained. “This model is hosted within the country, emphasizing its local relevance and capability to tackle regional issues.”
