Pakistani student Anara Behram Durrani has brought international recognition to Pakistan by winning a gold medal at the prestigious STEMCO Science Global Competition.
STEMCO is a globally recognized competition that fosters scientific curiosity and innovation among students, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talents on an international platform.
Held at the National University of Singapore from February 12 to 17, 2025, the competition attracted some of the brightest young scientific minds from around the world. Out of 26,000 Pakistani students who initially entered the contest, only 15 advanced to the international finals, where they competed against 177 participants from 13 different countries.
Anara’s exceptional performance in the early stages of the competition earned her a gold medal, a remarkable accomplishment that underscores Pakistan’s growing presence in the global scientific arena.
Pakistani students have consistently excelled in global science competitions, including the International Kangaroo Science Contest. The increasing success and participation of Pakistani girls in STEM fields reflect a promising future for the country’s scientific and technological development.
