In the World Boxing Challenge, Pakistan’s Laura Akram clinched the bronze medal after being defeated in the semi-final, ending her hopes of winning a silver or gold. Despite the loss, her performance marks a historic achievement, as reported by international media.

According to details, Laura Akram lost on points to Mongolia’s Mijidmaa Erdenedalai in the semi-final. The Mongolian boxer won against the Pakistani boxer with a 0-5 score.

After the semi-final defeat in the championship being held in the Czech Republic, Pakistan’s Laura Akram has been awarded the bronze medal. British-Pakistani Laura Akram is the first female boxer from Pakistan to win a medal in the World Boxing Challenge.

It is worth mentioning that earlier on Thursday, Laura Akram had defeated Palestine’s Noura Salim in the quarter-final.

British-Pakistani boxer Laura Akram gained prominence in women’s boxing after advancing to the semi-final of the Grand Prix Sˇteˇtí nad Labem, a major event held under the World Boxing Challenge in the Czech Republic.

The 39-year-old athlete displayed excellent performance in the 57kg category quarter-final, defeating Palestine’s Noura Salman with a unanimous 5-0 decision. Under Olympic-style boxing rules, all semi-finalists are awarded a bronze medal regardless of the result in the next round.
