Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal has triumphed in the Tasmanian Open Squash Tournament in Australia, securing his third title in recent days.
The $9,000 Tasmanian Open has been a significant event for Iqbal, demonstrating his remarkable consistency on the Australian squash circuit. He defeated Switzerland’s David Barnett 3-1 in the final, with scores of 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, and 11-5.
This victory continues Iqbal’s winning streak in Australia this year, having previously claimed titles at the Bendigo International and Shepparton Open, and reaching the semi-final of the Victoria Open. In the Tasmanian Championship semi-final, he outshined France’s Melvil Ciani-Menko with a dominant 3-0 scoreline of 4-11, 5-11, and 5-11.
These achievements come on the heels of another impressive performance in the CNS Squash Championship final, held in Karachi earlier this year.
