Pakistan’s Saad Siddiqui wins entrepreneur of the year at 2025 BRICS & SCO awards

Saad Siddiqui, the founder of the Pakistani e-learning platform Edversity, has won Social Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2025 BRICS and SCO Young Leaders Awards in Kazan Russia, state media said on Wednesday.

“We aim to offer cheap and easy-to-access education in new fields like AI, Blockchain, and Web3, to help people do well in the world’s digital economy,” Siddiqui, who is part of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council, said.

“Edversity represents my goal to make tech education available to everyone especially in less-privileged areas of Pakistan. This award shows Pakistan can innovate and start businesses.”

This year’s awards got more than 400 entries, with people taking part including business owners social media stars, scientists, and green activists. People from 13 countries—Brazil, China, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the UAE—competed for the prizes. Nominees were required to be between 18 and 35 years old and citizens of BRICS and SCO countries.

The event had five groups: Social Media Star of the Year, Social Business Owner of the Year, Public Diplomacy Project Scientist of the Year, and Green Project of the Year.
