Pakistan’s Sarah Gill becomes the first Asian woman canon missionary in UK

Dr. Sara Siddique Gill, a Christian leader of Pakistani origin, was appointed as a Canon Missionary during a religious ceremony in the historic city of Leicester, UK.

According to Javed Inayat, a well-known journalist from the UK, Reverend Dr. Sarah Siddique Gill was appointed as a Canon Missionary in the Diocese of Leicester and received a Canon Missionary license. She is the first Asian woman in this post.

During the ceremony, Bishop Martin Snow expressed his prayer and hope that Dr. Gill’s presence in the Diocese of Leicester would be a blessing and play an important role in strengthening community relationships.

Dr. Gill prayed for peace and security in the world, including for the universal churches, and thanked everyone who participated in the event.

The program began with a Bible reading, with the first reading by Akshay John and the second by Aan Stock. The dignified ceremony at the Diocese of Leicester was attended by Bishop Martin Snow. Gill is the first Asian woman to receive this honor in the Diocese of Leicester.

Dr. Gill hails from Gujranwala, a renowned city in Pakistan. In addition to the local church congregation, a large number of Christians from other cities also attended the ceremony. On this occasion, Reverend Rafat Zamrad congratulated Dr. Gill on her new responsibilities and expressed her best wishes.
