Pakistan’s Sybil Sohail and Veronika Sohail won gold medals at the ongoing Weightlifting Championship in South Africa.
Competing in the 52 kg and 57 kg categories respectively, the sisters excelled in squat, bench press, deadlift, and overall weight, securing top honors and elevating Pakistan’s stature in the sport.
Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, extended warm congratulations to the weightlifting sisters, Sybil Sohail and Veronika Sohail, for achieving this milestone.
Expressing immense pleasure over their victory, he said that Sybil’s and Veronika’s incredible talent and dedication had earned the highest honor for the country. “We’re beyond proud of you both for your outstanding achievement, and your perseverance and passion are a reminder that dreams do come true.”
The Chairman emphasized the importance of sports in promoting unity, resilience, and national pride, and reiterated the government’s commitment to providing all necessary resources and support to empower and enhance Pakistan’s standing in the world of sports.
