Huzaifa Shahid, a 13-year-old squash prodigy from Pakistan, has emerged victorious in the junior squash championship in Japan.
Dozens of under-15 players from several nations took part in the competition.
Huzaifa’s journey in squash began at the age of five, driven by a deep passion for the sport. He has been diligently training under the mentorship of his father, who has played a pivotal role in his development.
Inspired by the legendary Jahangir Khan, Huzaifa has already made his mark in local tournaments. His recent success in Japan further highlights his commitment and skill.
“I’ve been in love with squash since childhood,” Huzaifa shared.
His father, proud of his son’s accomplishments, has urged the government to provide more support for young athletes like Huzaifa. He expressed concern over the decline of squash in Pakistan, a country once renowned for producing legends like Jahangir Khan, and believes that with proper backing, Pakistan could once again dominate the sport.
