Pakistan’s Usman Wazeer knocks out Indian boxer in World Youth Championship

Pakistan’s Usman Wazeer knocked out his Indian opponent, Thilak Selvam, in the first round of their professional boxing match at the Thai Boxing Arena.

The bout, part of the World Youth Boxing Championship, lasted only one minute and five seconds. Wazeer’s powerful punches overwhelmed Selvam, leading the referee to declare a technical knockout.

Wazeer, 22, popularly known as “The Asian Boy,” is a native of Astore in the northern Gilgit-Baltistan area of Pakistan and is considered one of the best modern Pakistani boxers.

This victory marks Wazeer’s 14th consecutive win in the ring. Since starting his professional boxing career in 2018, he has won several titles, including the WBC World Youth title in 2022, which he successfully defended in 2023.
