SSP Riffat Bukhari, a female police officer from Punjab, has been honored with the ‘Excellence in Performance’ award at the 61st annual International Association of Women Police (IAWP) conference held in Chicago, USA.
Currently serving with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority, SSP Bukhari received this award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to law enforcement, including the protection of women, the use of artificial intelligence in apprehending criminals, and the development of advanced traffic management and road safety systems.
The award was presented by IAWP President Deborah Friedl, who highlighted SSP Bukhari’s significant impact in the field. This prestigious honor acknowledges her exceptional service to the community, particularly her innovative work in using AI to capture suspects, enhance women’s safety, and improve traffic management.
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, and Managing Director of the Safe Cities Authority, Ahsan Younas, congratulated SSP Bukhari on her achievement, expressing that her recognition brings pride not only to her fellow officers but also to women in the police force.
