A Pakistani-origin entrepreneur, Sualeh Asif, has secured a multi-billion-dollar partnership between his AI company and SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk.
The company has also announced a potential deal to acquire Cursor AI for $60 billion this year.
Sualeh Asif is a co-founder of Cursor AI, headquartered in San Francisco. The firm specialises in advanced artificial intelligence for software code generation and AI agents.
SpaceX stated that the collaboration aims to build some of the world’s most advanced AI systems for coding and knowledge-based tasks.
In a statement, it was said that Cursor’s software expertise will be integrated with SpaceX’s advanced AI supercomputer, Colossus. The resulting powerful AI models are expected to play a key role in shaping future technologies.
The partnership comes at a time of intense global competition in the field of AI. Cursor faces competition from platforms such as GitHub, while other firms — particularly in China and the United States — are rapidly introducing new AI products.
Sualeh Asif was born in Karachi and studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has also represented Pakistan in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
Together with his partners, he co-founded his company, which has gained global recognition through successful AI tools like Cursor, transforming coding through artificial intelligence.
Media reports claim the company now generates over $1 billion in annual revenue.
The firm is considered among the fastest-growing AI companies globally, while SpaceX is working to integrate AI with space technology, including plans for satellite-based data centres.
