Pakistan’s Ehsanullah Mehsud has clinched the gold medal at the Thailand International Taekwondo Championship after defeating competitors from Kazakhstan, India, and Sri Lanka during the tournament.
Ahsan began his campaign with a victory over a Kazakh athlete in the preliminary round.
He then defeated an Indian opponent in the semi-final to book his place in the final, where he overcame a Sri Lankan player to secure the gold medal.
Ehsan Mehsud expressed gratitude to the public for their prayers and encouragement, dedicating his achievement to the people of Pakistan.
“I am thankful for the support and prayers of the people. I dedicate this gold medal to Pakistan,” he said.
Member of the Provincial Assembly Asif Mehsud congratulated the athlete, saying Ahsan had brought recognition to Pakistan and Waziristan at the international level.
He also announced that he would provide a job opportunity for Ehsan Mehsud in recognition of his achievement.
