KP govt introduces helicopter safari service for tourists

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a helicopter safari service for tourists attending the Shandur Polo Festival.

This festival hosts a renowned free-style polo match between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit, held annually from July 7–9 at Shandur Top in Gizer District, Gilgit Baltistan, since 1936. It attracts polo enthusiasts from across the nation to the highest polo ground globally.

Partnering in this initiative are Patronate Aviation and the KP Culture and Tourism Authority. The service was inaugurated by Zahid Khan, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism, who highlighted the introduction of various tourism packages and helicopter safari services at the Shandur Polo Festival.

These offerings promise stunning aerial views of Chitral Airport, the Kalash Valley, Lowari Tunnel, Tirich Mir Peak, and the picturesque Qaqlasht meadows.

The packages include:

Package 1: Chitral Airport, Kalash Valley, Lowari Tunnel

Package 2: Chitral Airport, Treich Mir

Package 3: Chitral Airport, Treich Mir, Qaqlasht Meadows

Package 4: Chitral Airport to Shandur Polo Festival
