Pakistan has introduced a homegrown anti-drone jamming gun, “Sufra,” designed to neutralise hostile or cross-border kamikaze drones. Developed at the National Electronics Complex, the system was unveiled at the Karachi Maritime Expo 2025, where it successfully demonstrated its drone-disabling capabilities.

According to Hamza Khalid, manager of the manufacturing company, the Sufra gun can disable drones and their controllers within a 1.5-kilometre range and operates over a 30-degree adjustable angle, allowing operators to adapt to tactical needs.

The system can either seize control of an incoming drone—forcing it to land safely—or jam its communication links, rendering both the drone and its controller inactive.

Khalid added that Sufra has been engineered to withstand saturation attacks, meaning it can engage and neutralise multiple drones simultaneously. This feature makes it suitable for use in high-risk zones and during critical operations.

Officials indicated that the anti-drone system could be installed along Pakistan’s borders to counter aerial threats and deployed at large public events to enhance urban security.
