A football manufactured in Pakistan has reached space after making its mark on the playing field.
Using the ongoing official ball “Trionda” for FIFA World Cup, astronauts from the U.S. space agency, NASA, conducted an experiment on the International Space Station (ISS).
The experiment took place inside the station’s Cupola module, where the ball was observed floating in a weightless environment.
The experiment was aimed to know how a football behaves in microgravity. The experiment revealed how the ball’s balance and weight distribution affect its movement during play.

NASA revealed that a similar experiment was conducted in 2019, demonstrating how variations in balance can influence a football’s trajectory and motion.
It should be noted that the name of Adidas ball “Trionda” is derived from a Spanish term meaning “three waves,” symbolizing the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Adidas-designed Trionda ball is being used for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking another milestone for Pakistan’s football manufacturing industry as one of its products reaches beyond Earth and into space.
